Good morning, World 🙂
I have a secret that I would like to share with you. It’s not a big deal, it’s just, you know. Probably one of the most important realizations that you can come to throughout the course of your day. You ready for this? You ready for this glorious bomb of truth?
Ok, here it is. Get ready.
You have enough time.
I know, whaaaaat?
But it’s true.
You have enough time to figure out your goals, break them into manageable steps, and take them out one by one.
I know it isn’t easy. Sometimes, finding time to write is one of the most difficult tasks in the world, because on top of having ADHD, there’s never any SILENCE. There’s always a toddler rampaging through my room, trying to grab my coffee off the desk or chew on something expensive or dangerous… And it can be easy, in such moments, to feel like I will never get anything done.
But listen, World (and you know, Self):
You can get everything done.
I’ve started to try to pay attention to the tides of the day, if that makes any sense. There is an ebb and a flow of responsibilities and needs which must be tended to, and if one moment isn’t opportune, perhaps the next one will be. Figure out what tasks would be the easiest to accomplish right now, rather than which ones are the most important in the long run, because while the long term goals are the most important, they often require the most amount of mental effort… Effort that cannot be expended when you have a young, screaming baby on a rampage.
We have enough time.
Go with the flow and clear the path.
Have a lovely day, World! 🙂
